On Monday October 26, 2026, in Montreal, at the age of 83 years, Elisha Sassi took his last breath here on earth and took his first breath in heaven. He leaves behind his loving wife Gilda Sassi (nee Devito), his three children Sandra (Francesco Gesualdi), Don, and Rodney (Lea Goldthorp). He was an awesome gramps to Seth, Emma and Clara Gesualdi; Robin, Jamie, Kevin and Bianca Sassi; Noah, Caleb and Isaiah Sassi. He was a great-grandfather to Eli, Theo and Bronte. Elisha was the eldest of three brothers. He is predeceased by Constantino (Brenda) and leaves behind his youngest loving brother, Mario (Dorothy). He is predeceased by his parents, Donato Sassi and Filomena (Petrecca). Elisha also leaves behind nieces, nephews, many cousins and his Aunt Anna Petrecca. He took great pride in his family tree. Elisha loved company and had many wonderful friends.
Over the last six months, Elisha was in the care of Dr. Kevin Petrecca and the staff at the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital; Many thanks for their expertise, patience and compassionate support to him and his family.
Elisha loved people and food – the two things that create community. To his family and friends, he has left a legacy of caring for others. He leaves behind a lifetime of wonderful memories that will be treasured.

Friday, October 30, 2026, from 2PM to 5PM and from 7PM to 9PM, and Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 11AM to 12PM.
A celebration of life service will take place on
Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 12PM,
at the same location at the chapel.
Interment to follow the Service at 1h30PM at cimetière Urgel Bourgie Rive-Sud, located at 8145 Ch. de Chambly, Saint-Hubert, QC J3Z 0H4.
